How Betting Odds Work

Betting odds are the estimated probabilities of a particular outcome occurring.

This is a beginners guide to betting odds.

There are two main types of odds formats: Decimal and Fractional.

Decimal Odds (1.82, 3.41, 11.00, etc.)

Multiply the amount you want to bet, i.e. £1 by the odds offered, i.e. 1.82 = this returns £1.82 including the original £1 stake.

Fractional Odds (4/1, 5/2, 10/1, etc.)

If you place a bet of £1 at 10/1 and win you will receive £10 and your £1 stake, so you will receive £11 back.
